Real açaí

Real açaí has no syrup

The açaí you've tried so far was probably a purple ice cream loaded with sugar. Ours is the fruit of the Amazonian palm, blended in its pure essence — the way it's eaten in Manaus every day.

Pure

Authentic açaí pulp — no guaraná syrup, no colorants. The real taste of the forest.

Natural energy

Antioxidants, fiber and real energy. In Northern Brazil, açaí is a meal — not a dessert.

Just like in Manaus

With farinha, fried fish or in a fruit bowl: we'll show you every way to enjoy it.

From the heart of the forest

The legend of açaí

Legend has it that where the city of Belém stands today, there lived a very large tribe. Food was scarce, and chief Itaki made a cruel decision: every child born would be sacrificed, so the tribe would stop growing.

Iaçá, the chief's daughter, gave birth to a beautiful girl — and could not save her. Desperate, she cried every night and begged Tupã to show her father another way to help his people, without sacrificing the children.

One moonlit night, Iaçá heard a child crying. She stepped out of her hut and saw her little daughter, smiling, at the foot of a slender palm tree. She ran to embrace her, but the girl mysteriously vanished, and Iaçá wept until she collapsed.

The next day she was found embracing the trunk of the palm, with a smile of happiness and her eyes fixed on its crown: the palm was loaded with small dark fruits.

Itaki had the fruits gathered, and from them came a dark wine he named AÇAÍ — Iaçá spelled backwards — in honor of his daughter. With the abundance of açaí he fed his people, and from that day on no child was ever sacrificed again.

In Tupi-Guarani, açaí means «the fruit that cries».

Forest wisdom

What is açaí?

The fruit of an Amazonian palm and the ancestral food of the forest peoples — a superfood with a rich, energizing composition.

Palmera de açaí

Ancestral origin

The peoples of the Amazon have eaten it for centuries as a staple food: more than a fruit, it is history, tradition and everyday forest life.

Fruto del açaí

Nutritional value

Anthocyanins (antioxidants), good fats (omega 6 and 9), fiber, vitamin E, iron, calcium and potassium. Real energy, loved by workers and athletes.

Bowl de açaí

Culture and consumption

In the Amazon it is everyday food: with cassava flour, with fish and no sugar. In the city, in a bowl with fruit, granola and honey.

The name is a promise

What does Moroky'e mean?

Moroky'e means «I love you» in the language of the Sateré-Mawé people — the guardians of guaraná, the tribe of Estefani's grandmother.

We are Wescley and Estefani, a couple from Manaus who came to Buenos Aires to study medicine — and brought the saudade of the forest with us. Every bowl we serve carries the name of that love: for our family, for the Amazon, and for you.

Moroky'e — we love you 💚
